There's no nonsense with a new musical feature coming to Instagram, with the help of singer Sabrina Carpenter.
A new option rolling out Thursday on the social media platform allows users to add a tune to their profiles, parent company Meta announced.
Carpenter fans can get a first listen when they visit her profile. The "Nonsense" and "Espresso" singer used the feature to share a new single, "Taste," ahead of her upcoming album "Short n' Sweet," which drops Friday.
Instagram users will be able to select a song to play on their profiles, setting a vibe for their page or perhaps reliving their MySpace days.
How the new music feature in Instagram works
Music added to a profile appears below the bio. It appears as though adding a song or viewing others' profile songs is only available on the Instagram mobile app. Unlike MySpace, the songs don't appear to autoplay as of Thursday morning.
To add a song, navigate to your profile on Instagram and tap "edit profile." Scroll down and there should be a new "Music" option in the list. Tap to add and search for an artist or song.
After selecting a preferred tune, it will suggest a 30-second clip of the chosen song, similar to the function when adding a song to an Instagram Reel or Story. Change it by moving the selector to a different part of the song, if desired. After tapping "done," and the song will appear on your profile.
To change or remove the song, go back into "edit profile" or simply tap on the song on your profile. A menu will pop up, allowing you to remove the song or change it to another one.

Other recent Instagram updates
Instagram has a couple of related Easter eggs to go with Carpenter's new music drop. Notably, one of the Easter eggs is in Notes, whether they appear in the feed, on Reels or in the Notes tray. Similar to the golden ones during the Paris Olympics, Notes will turn baby blue (with a 💋 kiss face emoji) if they include any of the following Carpenter-related words:
- Sabrina or Sabrina Carpenter
- 💋
- short n' sweet
- short n sweet
- please please please
- espresso
- ☕️
- Sab
- I'm working late cause I'm a singer
- dream came trued it for ya
- brand newed it for ya
- don't make me hate you prolifically
Another Easter egg is a chat theme for Instagram DMs, which Meta says is inspired by Carpenter's "Short n' Sweet" album art.
